Waste Water Operator

Department: 000006 WASTE WATER
Location: San Marcos, CA

Work Schedule: Schedule: M-F, some Saturdays. 9:00pm-5:30a. Training during the day shift as needed

Hours Per Week: Full Time – 40+

Wage: $24-30 per hour

Job Duties: Experience operating, calibrating and maintaining wastewater treatment equipment, keeping up with industry standards, repairs, and documentation of all wastewater operations.

Seeking external candidates with experience in operating, calibrating and maintaining wastewater treatment equipment, keeping up with industry standards, repairs, and documentation of all wastewater operations and have a good attitude and be able to learn to do the following:

  • Collect samples from influent flow, effluent flow and operation basins to meet permit requirements and assess system performance.

  • Maintain accurate data records on operational parameters, daily activities, maintenance and collected samples for compliance reporting and operational analysis.

  • Trouble shoot and repair all equipment in the wastewater treatment plant with the cooperation of maintenance department staff.

  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s.

  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area. Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.

Education & Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); read and write proficiently in English, proven mechanical experience in related mechanical (or auto) required.

Other: Training will be provided to candidate with mechanical experience and aptitude.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is exposed to warm and humid conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration; occasionally fumes or chemicals and electricity. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
